Angel Fire ski mountain

A ski mountain in the southern Sangre de Cristos, an hour east of Taos by way of the Palo Flechado Pass. The summit sits above ten thousand feet and the snow comes down dry, the way it does on the eastern side of these ranges. The town below holds the Vietnam Veterans Memorial chapel, white and quiet on its own hill. Families come back here for the gentle pitches and the cold, clean light. — from the studio
