The stage with the Austin skyline behind it. Austin City Limits started in 1974 in a UT studio with Willie Nelson singing into a single camera, and has run longer than any other music program on American television. The painted skyline has changed to match what the city actually looks like, but the framing has not: a singer, a band, and the town behind them.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
