The Catedral de la Natividad de Nuestra Señora in Baeza, set above the olive plain of Jaén in a small town that holds one of the cleanest Renaissance ensembles in Spain. Built across the 16th century on the footprint of an earlier mosque, the cathedral is largely the work of Andrés de Vandelvira, the Andalusian master who also shaped Úbeda a few kilometres away. UNESCO inscribed Úbeda and Baeza together in 2003 for what they did with Italian Renaissance ideas in local sandstone.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
