A V-shaped pour-off cut by Oak Creek out of the Chisos Basin, the only natural drain for the high country. From the basin floor the notch frames the desert beyond. Sunset is the hour everyone walks down the trail. The light goes orange, then pink, then the last of it falls through the cut and the basin lets it go.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
