Campo de Criptana windmills
$22.00
Ten white windmills line the Sierra de los Molinos above Campo de Criptana, in the province of Ciudad Real. Three preserve their sixteenth-century machinery. Cervantes set Don Quixote's tilt at giants in this landscape — the high dry plateau south of Madrid that gives La Mancha its name. The mills catch the late light and turn white against the rust of the plain.
