Cape San Blas dune
$22.00
A long, low cape of bright quartz sand on Florida's Forgotten Coast, separating St. Joseph Bay from the open Gulf. The dunes here are uncommonly tall for the eastern Gulf, held in place by sea oats and bitter panicum and not much else. Hurricane Michael cut through the cape in 2018 and the sand has been rebuilding ever since. Loggerhead turtles still nest along the gulf side every summer.
Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
