The only place in the United States where in-water encounter with wild manatees is legal. From November through March they come into the warm spring outflows of Kings Bay by the hundreds. Guides launch from Crystal River on early-morning trips: snorkels, wetsuits, and a long brief on passive observation. The rule is to float. If a manatee comes to you, do not reach.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
