Enchanted Rock summit view

From the top of the dome the Hill Country opens in long shallow waves of live oak and cedar, the Llano River a silver crease to the north. A vernal pool sits in a granite hollow a few yards from the summit cairn, holding rainwater and the small ferns that come and go with it. Wind moves across the cap without interruption. Fredericksburg is out of sight to the south.
