Barcelona's central promenade, about a kilometre and a quarter of London plane trees running from Plaça de Catalunya down to the Columbus Monument at Port Vell. The middle lane is wider than the carriageways on either side; the Boqueria market opens off the right about halfway down. Mornings the kiosks set out flowers and the cafés put chairs on the stone. By evening the canopy fills in overhead and the light through the leaves is the colour of old paper.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
