Lake Mead Boulder Beach

The easiest swim into Lake Mead from Las Vegas. Boulder Beach sits at the south end of the lake on Lakeshore Road, a few minutes off U.S. Route 93 east of Boulder City. The shore is gravel and rounded cobble, the water clear over a pale bottom. A line of white mineral, the old bathtub ring, climbs the canyon walls above the swim area, the record of where the lake stood before the drought years. The National Park Service runs the campground and the marina road from here.
