A complete Roman wall, the only one still standing, around the old city of Lugo in inland Galicia. The circuit runs about 2.1 kilometres and stands roughly ten to fifteen metres high. Seventy-one towers still hold their places of the original eighty-five. It was built in the late third century to guard the Roman town of Lucus Augusti and has carried every century since without falling. The walkway on top is open and free.
