Two Civil War battles fought a year apart on the same rolling Virginia farmland, in July 1861 and August 1862. The Stone House still stands where it stood. Stonewall Jackson earned the name on the rise above Henry Hill. The fields look ordinary on a clear afternoon, which is part of what makes them hard to leave.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
