A private island east of the Mystic River mouth, reached by a low causeway from Masons Island Road. The coves on its southern side face Fishers Island Sound and hold the steady working light of southeastern Connecticut waters. Lobster pots, a few moored sloops, gulls keeping their distance. Nothing performs. The island has been residential for generations, quiet by design, and the cove keeps that quiet through the seasons.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
