Mijas Pueblo sits about 428 metres above the Mediterranean in the Sierra de Mijas, west of Málaga. Houses are washed in lime each spring, balconies hung with red geraniums and blue ceramic pots. Narrow lanes climb between them to the bullring and the chapel of the Virgen de la Peña, cut into the rock. From the mirador the sea reads as a band of pale silver.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
