The standard half-day climb out of the Denali entrance area. The trail leaves from the visitor centre, switchbacks through spruce, breaks above the tree line into tundra, and finishes on a rock spine looking down into the Nenana River canyon. On the days the weather lets it, Denali itself appears across the southwest, eighty miles off. Most hikers turn around at the overlook; the ridge keeps going.
