The bronze stands in Quanah, Texas, a small Hardeman County town named for him by the railroad that came through in 1887. Quanah Parker, son of a Comanche war chief and a captured Anglo girl, held out longer than any other Comanche leader and then, when the buffalo were gone, did the harder thing and led his people through what came after. The statue faces the plains he rode. Cars stop. People stand a minute and read.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
