The largest publicly owned tallgrass prairie left in the country, kept on the sandhill deltas above the Sheyenne River. Big bluestem and Indiangrass run head-high by August, with prairie chickens dancing on the leks in April and the federally threatened western prairie fringed orchid blooming white in the swales each July. The wind moves through the stalks like water.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
