A slot in the volcanic tuff, wide enough for one person at a time. The walls go up white and ribbed, ponderosa roots feeling for water in the cracks. At the top the canyon ends and the cone-shaped hoodoos stand in their crowd, each capped by the boulder that kept the rain off the soft stone underneath. The Pueblo de Cochiti closed the trail in 2020 and as of this writing it has not reopened.
