Frigiliana whitewashed Moorish quarter
$22.00
A whitewashed village on a hill above Nerja, in the Axarquía east of Málaga. The Moorish quarter, called the Barribarto, is the surviving Mudéjar street plan: narrow stepped lanes, tiled door numbers, geraniums in painted cans, doorways framed in cobalt. The white walls hold the sun until late. The village has been listed among Spain's prettiest more than once.
Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
