Palo Duro Goodnight ranch
$22.00
In 1876 Charles Goodnight drove a herd down into Palo Duro Canyon and made the canyon floor his headquarters. Backed by John Adair's Irish capital, the JA Ranch grew to more than a million acres. The same canyon Comanche bands had wintered in for generations became the first ranch in the Texas Panhandle. Goodnight kept a small herd of plains bison alive when most of the species was gone, and their descendants still graze the state's Official Bison Herd today.
Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
