A small county park west of Holland where a wooden tunnel cuts through a tall foredune and opens onto the Lake Michigan shore. People come for the sunset, which lands over open water, and for the stair beside the tunnel. By eight o'clock the lot empties and the beach holds just the wind and the low light.

Slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
